Exercises in Non-Control
A book/zine for a personal art project created between November 2023 and January 2024. The art comprises of a series of ink drawings and monotype prints of various scales. The booklet was made in order to further the exploration and processing of the images by placing them in a sequence and adding an essay-like text elaborating on the themes present in the art, of hope, depression, existentialism and art as a practice of training myself to accept my lack of control and understanding of the world.
All the images were scanned on an A4 scanner, some later processed by reprinting, zooming and making monotypes out of them.
The publication was exhibited along with several of the original works at Hamiffal in Jerusalem as part of the group exhibition Long Shadow, that took place between January-February 2024.
Printed at Ta Tarbut HaMehoga (riso) and Nachlieli (digital).
In addition, I designed and screen printed a limited edition t-shirt to accompany the book.
